One Laptop Per Child leads to greener enterprise computing



One Laptop Per Child, the ambitious non-profit organization created by Nicolas Negroponte and others, is not only trying to bring $100 laptops to kids in developing nations but also trying to save the environment at the same time. The group is touting its XO laptop design as "The World's Greenest Laptop Computer" and has third-party industry groups backing up that claim. Rebecca Gonzales, senior manager for high-growth Markets at AMD, one of the companies involved in the project, talks with Network World's Jason Meserve about some of the green technologies in the XO and how they might be applied to future corporate mainstream computer designs...
