Designing Appropriate Computing Technologies for the Rural Developing World



Tapan Parikh describes his experiences developing CAM - a toolkit for mobile phone data collection - in the rural developing world. Designing technologies for an unfamiliar context requires understanding the needs and capabilities of potential users.
