Cisco won't chase Amazon in cloud; IT spending continues 2009 drop

Cisco Systems won't try to compete with pay-as-you-go cloud computing providers such as Amazon, and instead will sell its infrastructure to those companies and provide its own software as a service. Also, Forrester Research said Tuesday that global IT spending would decline by nearly 11% in 2009 before vendors and end-user organizations begin to see some signs of recovery later this year and early next year.
